As an official corporate sponsor of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Samsung Electronics opened an OR@S (Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung) booth at the host city and provided visitors with an opportunity to enjoy a remarkable brand experience by using d'strict's Universal Frame. The OR@S programs, which fascinated Olympic athletes, officials, journalists and VIPs gathered from all over the world, included a UCC wall screen, and a snowball fight game that were activated via the multi-touch function, and a 3-screen experience.
Simply by placing an Omnia phone on a multi-touch screen you can read e-catalogues of the phone. Also, placing an e-card on the screen plays the automatic video clip showing Omnia in the context of the Olympic Games. This is an innovative brand communication in which a simple, intuitive act, requiring no complex procedures, accesses to product information, making it a fun experience for all users.

The function which attracted the most attention from visitors at the OR@S booth was the UCC wall screen, whereby the photos of users taken by an Omnia phone can appear on a large wall screen. Many visitors to the booth jumped at the chance and made their own portrait appear on a 36-inch multi-touch screen.
The image on the screen can slide to another wall screen simply by dragging it from one to the other. The 5m X 3m screen, which covered an entire wall of the OR@S booth, contained numerous photos of users having fun with the Universal Frame, fascinating them even more with the “motion image” function by which photos are freely moved from one place to another.
As vividly shown by the event, the arrival of the UCC wall screen can lead us out of the passive experience of just looking at the images appearing on a screen to active engage in the use of the images we create.
All the images taken by Omnia can be sent to other users via an e-mail or by cell phone simply by a finger touch, effectively transcending spatial restrictions on the brand experience. This ensures that the digital experience with the Universal Frame remains embedded in the memory of users for a long period.

In addition to the Omnia e-catalogue and the UCC Wall Screen, another function of Omnia charmed visitors to Samsung's Olympics booth, namely Snowball Fight Game that unfolded on a touch screen. Designed to entertain users of all ages, the program invites users to press a snowman with a finger so that he throws a snowball at another snowman, his opponent. The multi-touch function helps multiple players to play the game simultaneously and control between four and ten snowmen.
