Seoul Design Assets Exhibition

Meet the world's first fourth-generation media facade.

d'strict revealed the 100-inch multi-touch screen (subtitle: Universal Facade) at the Seoul Design Asset Exhibition, which was held to introduce the origins, history, and excellence of design works in Seoul. In the seven exhibition spaces, which allow visitors to watch, touch and experience the exhibited materials, visitors can have fun manipulating their photos on the interactive screen, and instantly create a digital album on the wall in the 5th zone, WDC2010 Design Seoul. The photographed images can be sent to a mobile device or blog immediately. As such, it may be the best IT experience space for students visiting the Design Asset Exhibition.

Compared with other media facades, which remain at the level of attaching the LED or projecting on the beam projector, d'strict announced the next-generation technique for implementing the three-dimensional image at the fashion show held last November and at the Seoul National University last December, for the first time in Korea. Subsequently, on the occasion of the Seoul Design Asset Exhibition, it announced the "universal facade" (fourth-generation), which combines a 100-inch multi-touch screen with a media facade, and supports interaction with users, for the first time in the world.

Several people can move the contents simultaneously - using only their fingertips - on the screen, which is the height of an average person, and throw photos away to the wall in all directions to create a multimedia album. It represents a major step forward compared to previous facades – with which people could only watch the digital design on the wall outside the building unilaterally, in that ordinary people can enjoy direct interaction with the media facade.

Furthermore, visitors can freely watch 51 types of Seoul design assets on the 36-inch multi-touch screen and the universal frame, which are located at the entrance to the exhibition hall. Visitors can experience the cultural heritage of Seoul as it is posted on the official website. It consists of a revolutionary exhibition technique that integrates online and offline using the touch screen.

Visitors can experience the fourth-generation media facade (100" multi-touch screen) and the universal frame for the duration of the Seoul Design Asset Exhibition (59 days from Friday, January 8th to Sunday, March 7th, 2010). No other combination of the past, present and future could be more beautiful than the contents of the Seoul Design Asset Exhibition, featuring advanced IT that rediscovers and reinterprets the 600-year history of the capital's cultural, historical, and urban environment from the perspective of design.
